Toronto HK Club on Instagram: "TAiFF 2023🎬入圍作品介紹 Introduction of Selected Films 《The Meditative Rose 鏡花》由何晉然執導，《鏡花》講述畫家男（陳健朗飾演）與其人體模特兒昭（黃遠虹飾演）之間的曖昧。電影開首交代了男作的一個夢，夢裡男與昭纏綿，親密非常。這是男在現實中不敢做的事。醒來後，男對於這個夢的記憶模糊，但在現實中，二人亦越來越親近，但亦與夢中一樣，二人的關係也是撲索迷離的。紅綠光影、鮮豔服裝、偶爾激昂偶爾清脆的配樂、西班牙粉紅湖的鏡頭、以及獨白與現實的穿插，都帶出鏡花水月的意境。 “The Meditative Rose” is a short film directed by James Ho in 2018. This movie revolves around the ambiguous relationship between a painter, Nam (played by Chan Kin Long), and his life model Chiu (played by Heidi Wong). The beginning of the movie shows that Nam dreams of being physically intimate with Chiu, which is something that Nam doesn’t dare to do in reality. Nam doesn’t remember much after waking up from the dream, yet they are getting closer in reality. However, similar to Nam’s dream, his relationship with Chiu in reality is also mysterious.
